Set of four early 19th c. inlaid dining chairs
Our
reference: TSP1049
Offered here for sale is a set of four Regency period mahogany dining chairs in the Sheraton manner. The square backs feature beautifully turned top rails with maple wood banding as well as reeded and slightly scrolled-over uprights. In each chair, the top rail rests on a rectangular tablet inlaid with boxwood. This is then linked to three reeded cross rails, each joined to the other by three spheres. The lower cross rail has scalloped carved detail. The drop-in seats are raised on turned forelegs tapering towards the feet and outswept back legs. The drop-in seats of all four chairs have been fully traditionally re-upholstered from the frame by The Sitting Place® and then covered in a lovely striped and patterned Kirby fabric by JAB Anstoetz. The warm yellow colour of the fabric beautifully complements the colour of the inlays in the chair backs. The chairs have a beautiful patina throughout. These high quality chairs would bring elegance to any formal breakfast/dining room. Note that colours on screen may differ slightly from the actual colours.
